A GoFundMe page said a woman named Kristin, her daughter, and her son "lost everything" in the fire on Coolidge Avenue on Sunday, Nov. 10. The American Red Cross posted on social media that it was helping a family of five with immediate needs like food, clothing, and housing.
Kristin's sister and the fundraiser's organizer Kelly Celentano said the family had just moved into the home in May.
"They were looking forward to a fresh new start and literally starting over after separating from her emotionally and verbally abusive husband," Celentano wrote. "She bought everything new, from beds to couches to televisions, etc., and unfortunately, they just lost it all in what felt like a matter of seconds."
Celentano also said the fire was mainly in Kristin's bedroom.
"All she has (as far as personal belongings) are the clothes on her back," wrote Celentano. "Whatever wasn’t burned from the fire is heavily damaged from smoke and soot."
